Roseburg, Oregon is a designated Award Winning Oregon Main Street Community. The National Main Street Center recognizes Roseburg's Performing Level community.
The Downtown Roseburg Association has implemented the National Main Street Four Point Approach since 2010. The Four Point Approach consists of Economic Restructuring, Promotion, Design and Organization.
The Oregon Main Street Program provides assistance, training, technical services, and grants to communities who want to preserve, revitalize, and establish their downtown commercial districts. The Main Street Approach is a proven comprehensive approach to historic commercial district revitalization for over 40 years.

Our Volunteer Flower Project

Outreach Committee
A strong outreach base with committed funding will enable Downtown Roseburg Association to enact an effective revitalization program in Roseburg Oregon. The Outreach Team manages time and resources while recruiting new volunteers and assets to the organization. As part of the Four Point Approach to Main Street revitalization, the Outreach Committee is responsible for the following:
Plan Fundraising events (to raise awareness and create long-term sustainable funding for Roseburg's Main Street)

Enhance and maintain Downtown Roseburg Association’s website
Our Committees are extremely energetic, organized, creative, open to new ideas while reviewing old ones, and have fun in the process. Roseburg's Main Street has many events to plan for the next year and will need your fresh ideas and help.

Promotions Committee:
Marketing the traditional commercial district’s assets to customers, potential investors, new businesses, local citizens and visitors. The job of Downtown Roseburg Association's Promotion Committee is to PROMOTE downtown as the center of commerce, culture, and community life for residents and visitors alike. As part of the Four Point Approach to Main Street revitalization, the Promotions Committee is responsible for the following:
Planning, organizing and promoting special events
Coordinating groups to participate, attend, or partner for promotional activities
Develop Downtown Roseburg Main Street’s image
Partners with other groups involved in promoting downtown Roseburg
Works with Executives and Organization to create promotional budgets
Communicates closely with Executive Director & Board President for media releases

Economic Restructuring Committee:
The goal of the Economic Restructuring Committee is to identify new market opportunities for Downtown Roseburg's commercial district, find new uses for historic commercial buildings, and stimulate investment in downtown properties. Our plans call for major improvements in arts, culture, waterfront recreation, tourism, and conference opportunities in the Downtown. Learning about the district’s current economic condition and identifying opportunities for market growth.
Strengthening existing businesses through seminars, consultant visits, etc.
Recruit new downtown businesses to fill gaps in the market
Find new economic uses for traditional Main Street spaces
Develop financial incentives and capital for building rehabilitation and business development
Monitor the economic performance of downtown on an ongoing basis and collect market data
Work with local financial institutions, Business assistance organizations on any matters related to downtown, in cooperation with design committee’s building inventory
Promote downtown as a good place to do business

The Design Committee
Enhances the physical appearance of the commercial district by rehabilitating historic buildings, encouraging supportive new construction, developing sensitive design management systems and long-term planning. As part of the Four Point Approach to Main Street revitalization, the Design Committee is responsible for the following:
Oversees all possible downtown design activity: maintenance, rehab, new construction, signage, store windows, public improvements, traffic and parking
Works with local design and construction professional to assure they understand proper treatment of old buildings
Establishes financial incentives for design improvements, such as a mini-grant fund or a low-interest loan pool
Partners with county and city government to oversee local ordinances affecting downtown building activity.
Maintains downtown building inventory, in cooperation with economic restructuring committee
